But I also think that it is a way to have fun with the family, which is something I find very important about real life.
I wouldn’t say that I would wear my mom and son jewelry, nor would I say that I would never wear my mom and son jewelry. As a general rule, I would say that if I really wanted something so cool and personal, I would go buy it and I would wear it. But I also think that owning something that’s more personal than that is just a fun thing to have.
In a sense, it’s fun to wear something you like, you own, and you never want to wear again. But most of our normal relationships involve a lot of wearing and unwrapping and taking off and putting on and carrying around and storing. And that is where a mom and son pair of bracelets comes from. For example, my mom wore a pair of bracelets to every single event in her life.
My mom was in the business of making jewelry and she never really thought that she would use the word “personal” in a sentence. But she wore a lot of those bracelets when she was a kid. She was always wearing them when she went out with her girlfriends and they would have a picnic or whatever and they would always be wearing the same bracelets. They were probably the first pair of bracelets I could remember wearing.
Her bracelets were a way for her to show her love to the people that mattered to her and that she loved. They were a reminder that she was still in the world.
