I love Kindle. I love the idea of reading books on my kindle. I even have a Kindle to add to my growing library of great books.
The problem is that Kindle is one of the least portable devices on the planet. I don’t know of anyone who has the Kindle for reading on the go, and yet there just aren’t that many people who own one. That makes it a little hard to make it a part of your reading routine.
The good news is that kindle readers can now be portable. Amazon announced a new version of the Kindle that’s designed to be used with a variety of gadgets and accessories. There is a version for the Kindle Paperwhite and a version for the Kindle Voyage. According to Amazon, the Kindle Voyage will come with a micro-USB port, a headphone jack, and an SD card slot.
The other new thing I’ve been wanting to do all day is take a look at the old-school Kindle Paperwhite. This lightish version of Paperwhite comes with a lot of apps, apps for browsing and playing games, apps for reading and searching, apps for searching through photos, apps for playing games. The device will have a USB port, a headphone jack, and a USB flash reader.
Kindle will have some apps for reading, but I’m not sure if I’m willing to invest in the app store. I don’t see the point of a $100 device that will cost me $200 to replace when the Kindle Paperwhite has a lot of apps for free and is a lot cheaper to replace. I would have to decide whether or not I want a Kindle for a year, and I don’t think I’d be very likely to do that.
The thing I would be surprised if I didn’t like the Kindle Paperwhite is that it would be the first device I could just plug my iPad into and have it read my books to me. For this to be a viable product, it would probably need a battery replacement that is good for reading a certain amount of time without needing to charge. Or it would need a new memory card with better capacity.
The Kindle is a great device with a wide variety of features and great sound quality, but it is also very power hungry. We’re talking about a device that needs to have a rechargable battery that can last for a long time, a USB port for charging, and a micro SD slot to store data.
The Kindle is not a good phone in the way Apple does, but it is a great device for keeping track of everything that you’re reading and everything that is important to you, and it makes good reading fast.
The Kindle is a great device that also has an HD-screen. The screen is the thing that makes the Kindle so powerful and also great for reading the book on your phone, and the HD screen is also your phone’s best read-able feature. It is similar to the Kindle itself, but uses the same HD screen.
