The most overused word in the English language. That’s right, we’re all guilty of using it, especially when referring to our footwear. The word hocksocks is so deeply ingrained in our modern culture and our language that we’ve lost an understanding of what it actually means.
Well, hocksocks are any two-tonne leather boots that come with two metal clasps on the side. Yes, these are basically booties that we strap on and can lace up. In the UK the word is often shortened to “hocks”, but its official name is “hacking”.
Hacking boots are another of those really cool things that are so cool but that people dont know what they are. The idea here is that you can get your boots to fit your foot but they can’t come with a laces or a buckle. When you’re walking around the office you can just stick your foot in the boot and have it snug against your shoe. When you’re on the street you can just put your foot in and have it hang off your boot.
I think I first tried them in the UK, but my wife found them to be quite uncomfortable. I think I have since moved to the US. The ones I tried online were far less comfortable than the hocks I got in the UK so I gave up on them.
I have to say, I had no idea that boots could be so comfortable. I’ve been in the UK for about three years and I’ve managed to walk around without a boot for that entire time. I’ve only recently moved to the US so I haven’t experienced that yet.
I used to wear my boots to work, but I haven’t done that since I moved to the US. Not sure if I’ll ever get around to wearing them again. I guess what I am saying is that I am a very, very big fan of boots.
I had some trouble with my last pair of boots. They were actually rather difficult to put on, and the sole just wasn’t that comfortable. Luckily I had a pair of boots that didn’t fall apart. I am currently using a pair of boots that I got from a friend, and they are much, much better. They are very comfortable, and the sole is very soft and grippy.
I think the reason so many people who wear boots love them is because of the way they feel on your feet. And when they are worn right, you can wear them for a long time without having to constantly remove your shoes and socks.
I bought my first pair of boots about five years ago, and I still wear them most of the time.
